Welcome to the Home of Storm Lacrosse! |

|
Storm Lacrosse is a non-profit travel lacrosse program based in northern Palm Beach County. We seek serious and motivated players who are interested in improving their game by playing a competitive travel schedule. Our goal is to teach team-oriented lacrosse, game fundamentals, and enhance individual skills and athleticism in a competitive setting.
Our coaching staff is a blend of highly successful high school coaches from the area and experienced youth coaches. Many are also former college lacrosse players, who have dedicated themselves to growing the game they love.
Tryouts are held each year in March/April and the teams selected play in summer and fall tournaments throughout the year.

Billy Bitter, UNC All-American, Hosts Skills Clinic |

One of the best college lacrosse players in the country was in town recently to host a free skills clinic for the Palm Beach County Storm, a travel lacrosse team based in northern Palm Beach County. Billy Bitter, University of North Carolina’s 1st Team All-American attackman, worked with about 70 players during the Saturday afternoon clinic at Mirasol Park.
During the clinic, Bitter led the group of 10 to 17 year olds in a variety of drills and shared some of the techniques that have contributed to his success. “I ran the clinic like our coaches run our practices,” said Bitter.
Storm coaches, Shane Rye, Bill Allen, Jim Jacobs, Blake Wintermute and Jon Friedrichs, assisted Bitter with the clinic.
Justin Gilken, founder of the Palm Beach County Storm, thanked Billy for coming to Florida to work with the group. “It is very exciting to have a player of his caliber come work with our boys,” said Gilken. “We look forward to having him work with us again in the future.”
Gilken also thanked Bitter’s aunt and uncle, North Palm Beach residents Suzanne and Tom Benz, for arranging their nephew’s visit. Benz’s sons, Thomas and Philip, both play for the Storm.
Bitter was a Tewaaraton Award nominee in 2009 as a sophomore, an award granted to the best lacrosse player in the nation each year.
Bitter ended the clinic by giving participants some giveaways, courtesy of Maverik Lacrosse.Back to top
